“I’m seeing something that was always hidden, I’m involved in a mystery, I’m in the middle of a mystery, and it’s all a secret…” calls the lyric that opens the album (‘One’). Silent Dust's self-titled debut (via their own imprint, none60) creates a gripping Film Noir in album form, teeming with sonic imagery and textures, characters and plots, shadows and light. Though wordless electronic music (apart from the cinematic vocal samples found tucked into their productions), each intimate track plays like a vignette steeped within a larger storyline. Arousing feelings of concealment and discovery intermittently, the 14-track LP calls upon the listener to make sense of a dream world reluctant to fully reveal itself.
